Piper, Kansas - Your New Home Area Information
Piper is a former unincorporated town in Wyandotte County, Kansas. and is now part of Kansas City, Kansas. Piper is home to the Kansas Speedway, the Legends at Village West, Great Wolf Lodge, Cabela's, Nebraska Furniture Mart and CommunityAmerica Ballpark which is the stadium of the Kansas City T-Bones.

Piper is only minutes away from the Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas for the Race Fan lover. The Kansas Speedway took off in June 2, 2001 with the Winston West Series. The speedway is a 1.5 miles (2.4 km) tri-oval with 15 degree banking in the turns. The speedway offers, season tickets, general admission, camping on the hill and motor homes are welcome down in the 'Pit".
This growing area will soon boast a Hard Rock Hotel and Casino after the state of Kansas approves plans. The hotel/casino will overlook turn two and the track will also apply for a second NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race no later than 2011. Be sure to check out Kansas Speedway!

The Legends at Village West is a super-regional shopping mall and lifestyle center located in the Village West development in Kansas City, Kansas. The mall has an area of 1,200,000 square feet.
The Legends at Village West is still an ongoing project as there are still many more developments still planned. The shopping center offers more than 110 retail/restaurant outlets including Dave & Busters and a Saddle Ranch Chop House, one of only five in the United States.
The Legends at Village West includes an audio walking tour of the more than 80 Kansans who are represented visually on medallions, posters, murals and in sculpture throughout the center. The Legends honors legends of Kansas in athletics, music, exploration, science, technology, politics, art and other fields. The Legends theme is interwoven throughout the facility, offering information about Kansas’ history, heritage and environment. Each corridor and courtyard of the center is dedicated to a particular category of famous Kansans or aspect of the state and its history. (wiki reference)

CommunityAmerica Ballpark broke ground on September 4, 2002 and was completed in just over 9 months with the expertise of Titan Construction. The fields opened June 6th, 2003! It is now the home to minor league baseball team Kansas City T-Bones of the independent Northern League and the temporary home of the Kansas City Wizards (Major League Soccer) as of this year. It is located in the Village West area at 1800 Village West Parkway. Local area High School teams play at the ballpark and it is also the home of the Kansas City Kansas Community College Blue Devils.
It has also been used for concerts and some community events. |
